This is based on the railways that served a number of large Victorian asylums, eg Hellingly, Three Counties Hospital, Whittingham Hospital. The track plan is based upon that at the King Edward VII Hospital near Leek in Staffordshire. Operation is very simple, as the maximum train length is 2 4-wheel wagons or one short carriage, and spectators are invited to operate the layout.
The layout is 10’6″ long and 2′ deep. It is operated from the front, and requires 2 tables at least 3′ long for support. 2 operators, 1 car
